SUJET : Le détective privé Visser est chargé par le patron de bar Julian Marty de suivre sa jeune épouse Abby. Aucun doute, preuves à l'appui, Abby a pour amant un des barmen de son mari, Ray. Visser recevra dix mille dollars de Marty pour les faire disparaître tous les deux. Il truque une photographie, empoche l'argent et abat Marty, en prenant le soin de laisser le revolver d'Abby près du cadavre. Ray enterre le corps, encore vivant, dans un champ, étant convaincu qu'Abby est la coupable. Il est bientôt traqué et abattu par Visser, qui avait laissé son briquet près du corps…
