SUJET : Depuis le divorce de ses parents, la jeune Eva vit avec sa mère.Celle-ci s'est remariée mais la petite fille ne s'entend pas avec son beau-père.Elle trouve un petit singe, Dodger, que son propriétaire, le marginal Shorty, a habitué à voler.L'enfant cache son nouvel ami dans l'appartement.Shorty, désespéré d'avoir perdu son animal, le recherche d'autant plus qu'il a promis l'aide du singe à une bande de cambrioleurs
